Overview: We are looking for someone who has a true passion to serve young families. This position involves ministering to FBC young families: both children and parents, as well as finding creative ways to reach young families around Benson through service and outreach. The ideal candidate will have a God-given passion, background and skillset to minister to this demographic, using their gifts to creatively and passionately meet the needs of this ministry.
DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Director of Family and Community Engagement
Reports to: Pastor Mike Lingenfelter and Pastor Garrett McQueen
Assisted by: Pastor Garrett McQueen and Superintendent Miranda Zinck
Position Status: 20 hrs/week
Salary: $20k
Work Schedule: Sundays (Weekdays Vary)
RESPONSIBILITIES
CHILDRENS/YOUNG FAMILIES (7-10 hours)
Ministers to Parents
Establishes relationships with parents through Sunday check-in/check-out times
Is happily available to minister or counsel families in other ways as needed throughout the week
Leads a weekly lifegroup for young families
OUTREACH (7-10 hours)
Works in conjunction with Pastor Garrett McQueen to develop thriving outreach program for young families in Benson
Strengthens churches relationship within the community through quarterly outreach events
Assesses communities needs and strategizes opportunities for the church to serve the community
Establishes closer church relationships with local community partners (ex. We Care)
Develops healthy relationship with Benson School
Offers annual outreach workshop
Instills community focused mentality
Discusses strategies for relational evangelism
Explains what it means to be the church in this community
COMMUNICATIONS (3 hours)

QUALIFICATIONS
Childrens/Young Families
Sincere passion young families, seeking to minister to them as a whole
Basic grasp of the Gospel and core Biblical teaching
Personable, Flexible, Creative, Patient, Joyful
Background experience serving in the school system or children’s programs a plus
Ability to manage budgets effectively
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Basic understanding of child safety and development
Able to pass background check

Since passion to serve Benson in practical and tangible ways
Has a heart for the lost and for the Benson community
